Tradeoffs in Yagi Antenna DesignFor you, what makes an ideal Yagi antenna? Great front to back? Maximum gain? Takeoff angle? Sharpness of pattern? Front to side ratio? Mike Mertel, K7IR, of SteppIR antennas will talk about tradeoffs in antenna design; we'll break up into groups and have an opportunity to design, assemble, and test a small yagi beam.
The November Western Washington DX Club meeting will take place at 6:30pm (dinner) and 7:30pm (meeting) on Tuesday, November 11th at the Lake City Elks Club (145th and Lake City Way). |

As most of you know, Andy's Diner has closed and we lost our DX luncheon spot of many years. We have met there the first and third Tuesdays for almost fifteen years. Starting with the first Tuesday in February (February 5th) we will meet for lunch at Barnaby's in Tukwila (Southcenter East). We will ahve a private room and still order individually from the menu. There is lots of free parking too. Try this new location so we can have your critique by the end of the month. Barnaby's is located at 16401 West Valley Highway (at Strander). This is the east entry to the Southcenter area just south of I405. It's a chance to talk DX, radio, propagation, and whatever else comes up. |

2007 Salmon Run Results! Click on "Salmon Run Home" to see the write-up and results from last year's Salmon Run. It was an amazingly successful event with a couple 1,000+ QSO entrants, 4 "Clean Sweeps" (or "Full Stringers" as Ward calls them...), and a host of mobile and expedition stations. Thanks to everyone that entered! Mark September 20 and 21 on your calendars for the 2008 Salmon Run! |

NW DX Convention a Success!A big THANK YOU to Denny W7SNH and his stellar convention committee for a great NW DX Convention last weekend! The venue was grea, comments on the banquet dinner were glowing, the sessions educational and enjoyable - and the raffle prize winners can't have been disappointed with the great prizes! |
