Here is your chance to serve the wider ham radio community, and help keep a vital piece of our communications infrastructure healthy.  WWARA (Western Washington Amateur Repeater Association), which is the frequency coordination group for our area, needs some fresh blood.

The annual membership meeting and elections of officers and board members will take place at the December meeting of the WWARA to be held December 2, 2006, 10:00 AM - 12:00 noon at Fire Station 91, 3030 78th Ave SE, Mercer Island, WA.

The continuing operation of the WWARA is at risk.  The lack of a volunteer secretary has brought the organization to a virtual standstill.

Very few request for coordination and renewals for the year have been processed. Band Chair positions are vacant for lack of participation. Some of the current officers, board members and bandchairs are frustrated and are unwilling to serve any longer.

If the December elections are not successful in filling the leadershippositions and band chairs with people who are dedicated to making the WWARA successful, the organization will certainly fall apart. This will create chaos in the repeater community of western Washington.

Please give this information the widest dissemination possible and make plans to attend and encourage everyone concerned to be there.

K7HW Vice Chair
