ACS supported the Seattle EOC Level II activation for snow and cold weather on 10 January 2007. An email alert was sent by EOC Manager Joel Ware at 1900 on Tuesday, 9 January, warning members of the pending activation and asking for volunteers to staff the EOC comm center on the following day. A system failure delayed the paging system callout, which was eventually sent at about 2230. Mark Sheppard opened the comm center at 0810. Hal Mueller arrived at 0830. Both attended the Operational Period Briefing given by Barb Graf in the EOC. Hal opened the Seattle ACS net at 0900 on the W7SRZ MST repeater, and took checkins and weather condition reports from 26 stations. Comm center went into standby status at 1300. Hams continued to monitor the MST repeater for the duration of the event. The Seattle EOC stood down at 1500.
