Greetings to all Seattle ACS Members and friends - it looks like Summer is ending and Fall is here... which means it is time to get active with Seattle ACS..... so this is what is happening:

1. We are conducting a new members orientation at the Seattle EOC at 6:30 PM on September 18 - please see the announcement which I have included below... I hope the leadership team and other members will attend to help give new members a feel for what we do and help answer questions...

2. General Membership and Training Meetings will be held, on the 4th Saturday of the month at 9:00 - 11:30 am at South Seattle Community College (West Seattle Campus) - the dates are as follows noting adjustments for holidays... 9-29-07, 10-27-07, 11-17-07, 12-15-07, 1-26-08, 2-23-08, 3-22-08, 4-26-08, and 5-24-08. We are waiting for room assignments - look for these to be published on the Seattleacs.com website calendar.

3. ACS participation in the ARRL Simulated Emergency Test or SET - 9-29-07 we will dedicating our September meeting to participating in the King County SET event. Our tentative plan will be to set up operations at South Seattle community college and the EOC and send simulated messages via voice and packet. It will be a great opportunity to tune up our message handling skills and utilize the WEBEOC system - our system for moving messages through the EOC chain of command... more on this soon...

Thanks - and please update your information on our WEB site to make sure it is accurate - Mark
