Seattle ACS members played an important role in the region’s major earthquake exercise, “Sound Shake 08.” Numerous federal, state, county, and city agencies as well as businesses and radio groups participated in this all-day drill designed to test and evaluate emergency response to a major catastrophe in the Puget Sound area.

Members of Seattle ACS were stationed at the Seattle Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and at the ACS radio post at the National Weather Service facility at Sand Point. In addition ACS members radioed individual reports from locations around the city throughout the day.
